The Mario Aiello Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association (MABJJA) was formed in the state of California by Professor Mario Aiello. While teaching in his Hollywood location, he quickly recognized the need and demand for high quality instruction in other areas, and decided to relocate permanently to Valencia. This, Mario’s third academy, became the headquarters of what is now the Mario Aiello BJJ Association. Although based in the United States, the techniques employed at this academy are adapted from the programs created by Grand Master Helio Gracie for the original Gracie Humaita Academy in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and based on the philosophies he imparted to his own sons during the course of their training.
The Mario Aiello Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association has affiliate schools in Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Banhia (Brazil), California, and North Carolina. Each school is staffed with hand picked associate instructors that have been hand-picked to ensure the highest quality teaching available. In addition to having top-notch instructors, Mario routinely travels to each location and works hand-in-hand with each instructor to bring out the best from every student. Mario Aiello BJJ Association membership extends to all schools affiliated to our association.
The Valencia headquarters also serves as the host site for all major MABJJA events and seminars. Our headquarters also serves as the host location for seminars taught by some of the most prominent members of the Gracie Family and many Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu black-belts and champions.
